The Visit Billings Executive Director position focuses on the promotion and marketing of Billings: Montana’s Trailhead, as a destination for leisure, group and business travel. Alex Tyson has been with the Billings Chamber of Commerce since 2007. Hired as the Community Relations Director, she was promoted to Vice President in 2009 and became the Visit Billings Executive Director in 2012.

Alex appreciates and understands the significance of tourism to the Billings community and local economy. Born in Yosemite National Park, Alex was a “National Park Service kid,” so to speak, spending 15 summers in Yellowstone National Park. Her first jobs included scooping ice cream for YNP visitors at the Hamilton Store in Mammoth and working for the Public Affairs Office and Park photographer. Welcoming people to Yellowstone and watching them enjoy their national park experience was a highlight of her teens and early 20’s.

A graduate of Montana State University Billings focusing on Mass and Organizational Communications, Alex is a past president of the MSU Billings Alumni Advisory Board and served as a board member or volunteer for several other area organizations including Parents, Let’s Unite For Kids, MSU Billings Foundation, March of Dimes and Faith Chapel.

Prior to working at the Chamber and Visit Billings, Alex anchored “Montana This Morning” at the local CBS affiliate, KTVQ, for nearly a decade and worked as a photographer, reporter and producer for Evening Post Publishing Company. Alex has lived in Billings for 20 years and is proud to call the community home. She is married to her husband, Calvin. They have two very active boys who help make up what they lovingly refer to as the Tyson Tornado.

Through relationship development and professional sales strategies, Stefan finds great success in providing others with solutions tailor fit to meet their needs. He is passionate about the place he calls home, and believes that Billings truly is a wonderful destination for visitors and tourists alike.

Prior to joining the Visit Billings team, Stefan was the Director of Sales with the Hilton Garden Inn. His experience and understanding of the hotel & hospitality industry provides invaluable insight, helping grow the services offered by Visit Billings to new levels of excellence.

Hailing from the Pacific Northwest, Stefan spent 8 years as a Children’s Pastor for a large non-denominational church of 11,000 people. It was there that he found the love of his life, who happened to be born and raised in Billings. Sarah and Stefan chose to make Billings their home in the fall of 2010 and have since added three beautiful daughters to their family; Jayla, Harper and Skylar.

Alyson moved to Billings in 2009 to attend college at Montana State University Billings. In 2013 she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Public Relations. A year after graduating she decided to return to school to pursue her graduate’s degree in Public Relations at MSU-Billings and finishing in December 2016. In August 2016, Alyson joined the Visit Billings team as the Public Relations and Social Media Manager.

As a native of eastern Montana, Alyson is excited to have put down roots in Billings. Getting to see the great things that are happening in the community is something Alyson is proud to become a part of. One of her favorite parts of Billings is how it truly is a great trailhead to the rest of Montana while having the wonderful amenities of a large city. Her free time is spent with her adorable yellow lab, Summer, doing what any Montana girl with a dog would do: getting outside!

Alyssa’s career with the Billings Chamber of Commerce and Visit Billings started in March of 2015 as the Member and Visitor Services Assistant and soon evolved into the Visitor Services Specialist. As the Visitor Services Specialist and a member of the Visit Billings Team, she prides herself in knowing all Billings has to offer.

Born and raised in Billings, Alyssa developed a love and passion for the community. She volunteers through non-profits and has assisted in starting other volunteer and outreach programs, including a focus on the homeless community in the heart of downtown Billings and neighborhood outreach throughout the community.

Luke joined the Visit Billings team in the summer of 2016. As the Visitor Information Center Assistant, Luke works with a fantastic set of volunteers in order to give a warm welcome to anyone who walks through our doors.

Luke is currently working on an English degree at Montana State University Billings. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, drinking large amounts of coffee, and playing in recreational soccer leagues. Luke loves his home of Billings, but is always up for a getaway to a larger city or a day trip to a smaller community in Montana.
