His historic home the Moss Mansion was built by famed architect Henry Janeway Hardenbergh and is the most notable artifact remaining from P.B.s days. However P.B. was a prominent gure in Billings development. He was a well-known banker organized a newspaper which was the forerunner to the Billings Gazette and started a telephone company and the Billings Utility Company. Later with business partners P.B. was instrumental in the development of the Billings Light and Water Power Company the Northern Hotel and in projects like irrigation development the sugar factory and the Billings Polytechnic Institute todays Rocky Mountain College. Less successfully P.B. dabbled in agriculture politics and attempted to build his own city Mossmain west of Billings. Though much of his legacy has been replaced by modern companies and technology his impact on Billings early years is undeniable.
