Chief Plenty Coups State Park
Chief Plenty Coups State Park
Chief Plenty Coups State Park, located on the Crow Reservation south of Billings, honors the life and legacy of Chief Plenty Coups, the last traditional chief of the Crow Nation. Known for his courage and vision, he guided his people through a time of immense change, working to preserve their culture while adapting to a new way of life.

Visitors can tour his original log home and explore the visitor center, which shares stories of his leadership, his diplomacy and the challenges the Crow faced during his lifetime. A short walking trail leads to the sacred spring and a quiet picnic area along Pryor Creek, offering a peaceful place for reflection.
The park also hosts cultural events and educational programs that celebrate Apsáalooke traditions, giving guests the chance to learn more about Crow history and heritage.
