From Arts to Athletics: Spring into Billings Events

January 22, 2026

Spring in Billings doesn’t always show up quietly. One day it’s snowing, the next you’re in sunglasses on a patio. But no matter what the forecast says, March and April bring a packed calendar of events that put a little extra spring in your step.

Culture Comes Alive in Billings

Spring is a great time to experience Billings with events and performances that celebrate the city’s culture and community.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade & Celtic Fair. A longtime Billings tradition, this FREE St. Patrick’s Day celebration takes over Downtown Billings on March 14 with a lively parade, Celtic fair, and street party complete with live music, bag-pipers, cloggers, food vendors, and lots of family-friendly fun (and, maybe even a green beer or two).

MSUB Pow Wow. This vibrant Pow Wow, held at MSU Billings April 10 & 11, celebrates culture through dance, music, regalia, and community. It’s a meaningful and welcoming event that offers attendees a chance to experience living traditions and cultural connection.

Cirque Kalabanté. Afrique en Cirque takes the stage April 9 & 10 at Alberta Bair Theater. This high-energy performance by Yamoussa Bangoura is inspired by daily life in Guinea and showcases the strength and artistry of African culture. Expect gravity-defying acrobatics, live Afro-jazz, and an unforgettable journey.

Sports Season

Spring may be unpredictable, but one thing is certain: spring in Billings is all about sports.

From Southern B Basketball and State AA Basketball to State AAU Wrestling and the Montana Open Wrestling Tournament, local and regional athletics take center stage nearly every weekend this time of year at MetraPark. Catch the full lineup on our Sports Page.

And, let’s not forget the national action. March Madness turns Billings’ breweries and sports bars into high-energy watch zones. Grab a seat (and a drink) at local favorites like Hooligans Sports Bar or 406 Kitchen & Taproom and catch the buzzer-beaters during happy hour.

PBR: Professional Bull Riding. Two nights. World-class riders. A whole lot of adrenaline. PBR returns to Billings April 17 & 18 at MetraPark for back-to-back nights of elite bull riding with some of the best athletes in the sport. It’s loud, it’s intense, and it’s a must-see spring event in Billings.

With so much to see, do, and celebrate this season, spring energy is alive and thriving in Billings, Montana.
