Billings Brewery District is Hopping
November 09, 2017

Group enjoying local micro brews (2)

1.5 miles of historic downtown Billings interwoven with some of the finest microbreweries and distilleries around, 8 to be exact. Check out the map here. While we have put together this amazing map of great places to grab a drink. We don’t encourage you hit them all in one day. But when choosing which ones you want to go to it’s important to know all the details!

Yellowstone Valley Brewing Co.

Also known as the garage is popular for open mic nights and live music as well as a killer patio in the summer. The names of the beers are some of my favorites. Enjoy a Grizzly Wulff Wheat, Wild Fly Ale, Renegade Red Ales, Huckleweizen or a Black Widow Oatmeal Stout. Spirit of Montana Distilling is also located inside the garage, homemade vodka and gin are hard to beat! Open 7 days a week 4pm to 8pm so plan accordingly to include this awesome brewery in your day!

Uberbrew.

Award winning beer flows thick at Uberbrew. With truly “Iconic” beers Uberbrew continues to be a staple in the Billings Walking Brewery District. With a uniquely Montana vibe inside and out this is always a great stop for visitors and locals alike. Inside you will see décor from canoes, to big game, original brick walls and even a photo of the owner’s race horse that competed in the Kentucky Derby. The beer speaks for itself, “White Noise” is only allowed in the form of beer here.

Last Chance Pub and Cider Mill

Montana meets the big apple here, and we don’t mean New York City, we are talking hard cider. From the people who brought Red Lodge Ales to you, Montana’s very own cider mill. All cider is made in house for an amazing twist. Located in a historic brick building, Last Chance was sure to keep the buildings character in tact while adding modern chic feel. With an emerald green brick fireplace to gather around alongside locally-sourced and crafted food, the atmosphere is tough to beat.

Trailhead Spirits

Hand crafted cocktails are the bread and butter at Trailhead Spirits, that and winning awards. USA Today voted Trailhead Best Gin Distillery, but every spirit there boasts multiple awards. Located in the historic Montana Depot building, this is a must see. Bonus, on Saturdays there is a Bloody Mary bar so you can try out your own hand crafted cocktail!

Carters Brewing

All rails lead to beer, literally. Follow the railroad down Montana Avenue and you won’t miss Carters. With a patio in the back on the railroad and one in front on Montana, Carters has all the action. With great beer and an open brewing concept you can see right where your beer is being brewed when you walk in the front door.

Angry Hanks Microbrewery

Everyone needs a little “Anger Management” from time to time. This brewery has you covered. A great place to meet up with friends after a long day and unwind with great beer and an awesome environment. Another brewery with great names like Dog Slobber, Street Fight, Head Trauma and of course my favorite, Anger Management.

Thirsty Street Brewing

Thirsty Street has over 13 diverse beers on tap.  Right now they are excited about our 2 Barrel aged sours on tap, and 20 more in barrels doing their amazing work to be released throughout the year.  They also have a great selection of Belgian-style ales and American ales to choose from. Located on 1st avenue offering free shuffleboard, pool and darts, they have the perfect recipe for a fun night!

Montana Brewing Company

Located in the old Montana Power Company, Montana Brewing Company knows downtown everything. With a large selection of great beers, these guys have been brewing for almost 20 years and they know what they are doing. Whitetail Wheat is a favorite of many, but no matter what you prefer in beer, they also have a mac and cheese for every flavor! Enjoy great food and great beer on one of Billing’s best patios.
