“I’m bored”? Not on our watch.
Here are 8 kid-approved places in Billings to check out this summer.
One of Billings' newest attractions, Lava Island opened in winter 2025 and has quickly become a family favorite. Designed for kids of all ages, this massive indoor playground is packed with nonstop, energy-burning fun.
Whether you’re there for a quick visit or a full-day adventure, you’ll find trampolines, foam pits, towering slides, a sprawling jungle gym, and even a special toddler zone. Fair warning: you’ll probably want to join in, too!

Where nature meets play, the Montana Audubon Center is the perfect blend of nature, learning, and hands-on exploration. As you explore the trails and ponds, keep an eye out for wildlife in its natural ecosystem, including turtles, birds, and other local critters - you might even spot them while canoeing! Their summer camps and youth programs are especially popular, making exploring and conservation exciting for all ages. It’s the ideal spot to slow down, stretch your legs, and soak up some fresh air.

This children’s museum boasts many one-of-a-kind, rotating exhibits that focus on STEM learning, including a space station, engineering challenges, a kid-sized clinic, and even a water table modeled after our very own Yellowstone River!
Wise Wonders is interactive, engaging, and oh-so fun for curious, creative, and scientific minds. Honestly, you might find yourself wishing there was an adult version to jump in on the fun!

Steepworld is your go-to for indoor climbing fun - perfect for kids, teens, and parents alike! We’re talking 40+ foot rope walls, a bouldering area, a yoga studio, and even a full fitness mezzanine so that you can get a workout in while the kids climb.
Whether you're a total beginner or already crushing routes, Steepworld makes climbing accessible, exciting, and safe for all. Now all that’s left? Chalk up and send it.

When the temps rise, Oasis Waterpark is the place to cool off with the whole crew. With shallow splash zones for little ones, a lazy river, two water slides, and Montana’s first-ever WaveSurfer surf simulator (you read that right – surfing in Billings!) it’s built for all-day summer fun.

If you’re thinking this looks like the ultimate destination for your high-energy crew…you’re absolutely right! Get Air is where bouncing off the walls is basically the whole point. Wall-to-wall trampolines, foam pits, ninja obstacles – it’s play paradise. And yup, it’s not just for kids. Parents, don’t be shy - this place is a blast for you, too.

Billings Mustangs Game at Dehler Park
Billings Mustangs baseball games are a Billings summer tradition. Great baseball, snow cones, bouncy houses, and all the snacks you can dream up. There’s just nothing like it. Oh, and Sundays? It’s Family & Friends Day, meaning family deals AND kids get to run the bases after the game. It’s summer fun, wrapped in a ballpark. *Photo Credit: Seth Kroft
Montana’s one and only zoo - and it lives up to the hype! ZooMontana is home to over 80 animals from 56 species, including tigers, grizzly bears, river otters, red pandas, and many more.
