When summer approaches, there’s plenty to be excited about. Warmer weather. Summer vacations. Road trips. But, we don’t overlook simple pleasures either.

Spending time on a patio with a cold drink is our favorite way to relax! We’ve put together this list of patios throughout Billings to celebrate the upcoming patio season. How many have you visited?

Carter’s is a local-favorite brewery for many reasons, and their patio is one of them! Sip on a beer, snack on some popcorn, and enjoy the ambiance as trains whistle by.

Bar MT is just down the street from Carter’s, and it also boasts a fantastic patio with a cozy fireplace.

Fantastic local brews? Check. Weekly events and concerts? Check. A spacious, relaxing patio? Check! If you haven’t visited Thirsty Street yet, you’re missing out.

Angry Hank’s Microbrewery 20 N 30th Street (Downtown Billings)

Don’t let their name fool you—it’s impossible to be angry when you’re sipping on a beer and enjoying the patio at Angry Hank’s!

Spitz 313 N Broadway (Downtown Billings)

Spitz downtown location is a great choice for a quick bite, especially if you’re searching for a nice patio. They have two actually, but the real star of the show is the private patio behind the restaurant.

406 Kitchen & Taproom 1233 N 27th St (Downtown Billings)

If we were ranking Billings’ patios with the best views, 406 Kitchen & Taproom would easily take the top prize.

Tiny’s Tavern 323 N 24th St (Downtown Billings)

Tiny’s Tavern is home to one of Billings’ most-popular patios, and it’s well deserved. Summer hasn’t truly started until you’ve had an Orange Crush at this location.

Montana Brewing Company 113 N Broadway (Downtown Billings)

Montanan’s first brew pub is home to one of Billings’ best patios—right along the lively Broadway! If you’re patio hopping downtown, Montana Brewing Co better be on your list.

Doc Harper’s Tavern 116 N Broadway (Downtown Billings)

Located right across the street from Montana Brewing Co., Doc Harper’s caters to locals and travelers seeking martinis and cocktails. During the summer, you can enjoy one of their delicious concoctions and kick back on their outdoor seating.

Black Dog Coffee House 3115 10th Ave N (Downtown Billings)

Each Black Dog Coffee House features outdoor seating, but we have a soft spot for their 10th Avenue location. It gets bonus points for being part of the cozy North Elevation Historic District!

The Vig Alehouse 501 Hilltop Rd (Billings Heights)

If you want to relax on a patio in the Billings Heights, look no further than The Vig and their weekday happy hour specials.

By All Means Brewing 1400 S 24th St W (Billings West End)

By All Means Brewing, or BAM, crafts some of the best beer in Billings. Thankfully, those high standards can be seen in their patio, too, and we love the dedicated space to yard games.

Meadowlark Brewing 3970 Pierce Pkwy (Billings West End)

Sure, Meadowlark Brewing’s patio offers plenty of space to take it easy, but this is one of our favorite spaces if you’re looking to enjoy activities, too. It features a stage for live music, and they recently added pickleball courts!

Canyon Creek Brewing 3060 Gabel Rd (Billings West End)

Canyon Creek has a dedicated legion of fans and regulars for good reason! Well, multiple reasons if you’re counting their beer menu AND their spacious patio.

Diamond X Beer Co.  5417 Hawk Creek Ave (Billings West End)

Diamond X’s large patio has everything you need to enjoy the space. Covered seating? Yes. A fireplace? Of course. Tables for large groups? You bet. Yard games? Do you even have to ask?

The Windmill & Bar 51 3429 Transtech Way (Billings West End)

The Windmill & Bar 51’s patio is another local-favorite. It accommodates large groups and its serene setting is incredibly welcoming.

The Divide Bar & Grill 4020 Montana Sapphire Dr (Billings West End)

Since its opening in 2016, The Divide has become a mainstay for West End eats. Its patio overlooks the Shiloh Conservation Area and is a great spot to unwind.

City Vineyard 1335 Golden Valley Cir B (Billings West End)

If wine and cheese boards are reasons you enjoy a patio, let us suggest City Vineyard. Their patio is cool and comfortable, and it’s a great space to enjoy a conversation with friends.

Yellowstone Cellars & Winery 1335 Holiday Cir (Billings West End)

Yellowstone Cellars & Winery is known for their locally produced wines, and we think those are best enjoyed on their comfortable, quiet patio.

From rooftop views to laid-back local favorites, these 20 Billings patios are worth a spot on your summer bucket list.
